RING SIZE GUIDE

A ring size is the number that matches the inside measurement of a ring to your finger. This guide shows you how to measure at home, how to read our size chart and what to do if your ring does not fit.

UNDERSTANDING RING SIZE

Ring size is a number that matches the inside circumference of a ring to the base of your finger. In the United States, ring sizes usually run from 3 to 13 in half-size steps.

A well-fitting ring should feel snug but comfortable. It should pass over your knuckle with slight resistance and then sit securely at the base of your finger without feeling tight.

Because our rings are made in standard US sizes, you can use the chart below to convert from the sizing system of your country.

MEASURING YOUR FINGER

You can measure your ring size at home in two ways: by measuring the circumference of your finger, or by measuring the inside diameter of a ring that already fits you well. The first method is described here, and the second follows below.

1. MEASURE THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF YOUR FINGER.

You will need a thin strip of paper or a piece of string, a pen and a ruler. Choose the finger you plan to wear the ring on, as sizes can differ from one hand to the other.

Step 1. Cut a piece of string or a strip of paper about eight inches long.

Step 2. Wrap it once around the base of your finger.

Step 3. Mark the point where the end meets the rest of the string with a pen.

Step 4. Lay it flat and measure the length to the mark in millimeters, then find that number in the circumference column of the chart.

2. MEASURING AN EXISTING RING

This method works well when you want to surprise someone and cannot ask for their size. Choose a ring that fits the correct finger comfortably.

Step 1. Place the ring on a ruler and measure the shortest distance across the inside of the ring, from one inner edge to the other, in millimeters.

Step 2. Find that number in the diameter column of the chart to see the matching ring size.

PRINTABLE RING SIZE CHART

A printable ring size chart lets you check your size at home by placing a ring you already own on the printed circles.

Print the chart at 100 percent scale, with no "fit to page" setting. Check that a standard bank card measures about 3.37 inches across on your printout to confirm that the scale is correct. Then place your ring on the circles and match the inside edge to the closest one.
